Description
Art Builds Community! Celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. at the Third Annual Martin Luther King Day celebration at Chesterton Art Center on Monday, January 19, from 10AM–2PM. Art Builds Community is a free drop-in program. Participants will have the opportunity to create art and poetry, celebrating the power of words. Visitors during the event will engage is word-based art projects, including a letterpress activity led by Ida Short of the Goshen Printmakers Guild. Additionally, the event will feature an all-ages storytelling program in the gallery at 1 PM. If you’d like to reserve a spot as a storyteller, please email Cara Schmitt at programs@ChestertonArt.org. Art Builds Community is a free event, but registration is requested.
